Traditional hooked rug using strips of wool. The inspiration for designing "Buddy" came after he was adopted by us in the fall of 2008. "Reclining Fawn" was designed by Trish Becker of The Woolery and hooked by me.
Cristian's Cats, punch needle rug
I use both the "traditional" method of hooking with strips of wool fabric and the "punch needle" method using my hand-spun Shetland wool yarn. I highly recommend the Oxford Punch Needle http://www.amyoxford.com/index2.html for all your punch needle projects. Amy Oxford's book Punch Needle Rug Hooking Techniques and Designs is an excellent reference.

My April rug was part of the Calendar Project which was on display at the Hooked in the Mountains rug show at Shelburne Museum in Vermont. The theme of our group was Childhood Memories. I called my piece "It's Raining Cats" as I had a habit of bringing stray cats home from school.

Needle felting or "painting with wool" is one of my favorite crafts. I utilize my Shetland roving to create one-of-a-kind wall hangings. Commisions for hand hooked rugs and felted wall hangings are always welcome.
